Shin He Fa Frozen Foods Co., Ltd., rooted in Yilan, was founded by Liu Xin-Chuan (known as "Chuan Dad"). It is one of the few local seafood companies with both a sustainable gold-certified fishing fleet and HACCP-certified processing facilities. Specializing in handling mackerel, jack mackerel, and other common fish species from Nanfang’ao, the company ensures product safety and quality through rapid freezing and hygienic filleting techniques, expanding its reach into export markets. Unlike typical seafood companies, Shin He Fa not only sells fish but also tells their stories. The founder’s eldest daughter, Liu Xin-Yi, known as “Cindy, the Fisherman’s Daughter,” has built a personal media brand dedicated to promoting seafood education and fishing village culture through videos and books. She has authored two volumes of the series The Fisherman’s Daughter’s Fresh Fish Notes and gathered hundreds of thousands of followers on Facebook and YouTube. The brand’s story embodies the spirit of young entrepreneurs returning home, translating seafood knowledge, upgrading processing techniques, and driving local revitalization—showcasing a new generation of strength in Taiwan’s seafood industry.
