Varicon Aqua Solutions Ltd. is the UK based manufacturer of the Phyco-™ range of photobioreactors, Live Feed Production systems such as our HDRS and Cell-Hi line of algal nutrients. Our team has more than 30 years of experience in the design, construction and deployment of various cultivation platforms; including algal photobioreactors, high-rate algal ponds and aquaculture production systems worldwide. We pride ourselves on our ability to support the client from project conception through to commissioning and exploitation; an ability founded on a clear understanding of the interplay between the biological needs of the organism and our engineered solutions. We combine this technical expertise, and manufacturing experience with strong supply chain relationships, giving a systems wide understanding of both the equipment and production processes. This unique experience gives us a competitive advantage during client engagement and project specification, allowing us to design turnkey projects and provide bespoke photobioreactor and cultivation systems for a wide range of applications.
We are widely considered to be the global leaders within the sector, and to date have deployed over 350 photobioreactor & associated technology systems across the world. To date our systems have ranged in scale from 5 - 400,000 L and are built to high specifications using precision manufacturing processes. Prominent products within our range include our serpentine Phyco-Flow™ photobioreactor and moulded Phyco-Pond systems, often deployed in pilot or commercial production environments. Newer photobioreactor systems include our vertical column photobioreactors; the Phyco-Lift, Phyco-Conical and Phyco-Bubble. In addition to our photobioreactor & other live feed production systems for rotifers and copepods, we also specialise in providing the ancillary equipment necessary for running a successful algal production facilities and harvesting live feeds. This includes process monitoring and control, LED solutions and downstream processing equipment.
Furthermore, we supply a broad range of specialised Cell-Hi algae nutrient and cultivation media, feeds and water treatments. Our consultancy division allows us to conceive projects, both large and small, whilst applying rigorous techno-economic and financial modelling approaches. We can also work closely within larger multi-party consortia; taking a lead on budget allocation, project planning and management.
