2024 Taiwan Smart Agriweek: Integrated Crop Management Agricultural Alliance Showcases Achievements and Leads the New Trend of Preventive Agriculture
Outstanding Results in 2023 Exhibition, Ready to Meet 2024 Challenges
In the 2023 exhibition, the Integrated Crop Management Agricultural Alliance, ICMAA achieved remarkable success, gaining high recognition and widespread attention in the industry. As a leading promoter of agricultural technology, the ICMAA not only showcased numerous innovative achievements but also further advanced the development of Preventive Agriculture (PA). In 2024, the ICMAA will participate in Taiwan Smart Agriweek, continuing to showcase its latest achievements in agricultural management.
ICM Alliance Promotes Preventive Agriculture Together
The ICMAA, consisting of JHB Taiwan Corporation, Hopax Fine Chemicals,
Agrogreen, Group Gain, JH Biotech(China), Inc., along with Shandong Duofen Agriculture, forms a strong team. This alliance focuses on promoting Integrated Crop Management (ICM) and Preventive Agriculture, aiming to achieve a win-win goal for both producers and consumers by reducing crop production costs and improving the quality and yield of agricultural products.
The core concept of ICM is that prevention is better than cure, similar to the concept of preventive medicine. ICM begins with selecting disease-resistant and healthy seeds, then testing the soil to understand the nutritional needs during crop growth, and finally using biostimulants and biochemical stimulants to enhance the crops\\' resistance to pests and diseases. These measures effectively prevent the occurrence of pests and diseases, reducing the management risks for producers.
Practical Achievements and Technological Innovations
Over the past year, the ICMAA has launched ICM solutions for various crops, achieving significant results in field demonstrations. For example, in the ICM solutions for strawberries, coffee, melons, mangoes, and citrus, the combination of organic fertilizers, beneficial microorganisms, liquid fertilizers, potassium phosphite, plant essential oils, and trace elements like manganese and zinc has enhanced nutrient absorption and disease resistance of crops from multiple aspects, while also reducing the occurrence of pests and diseases.
With the rapid rise of the Southeast Asian market, the ICMAA has also seen great potential in promoting ICM solutions in this region. The geographical and climatic conditions of Southeast Asia make it an important player in tropical agriculture, but it also faces challenges such as extreme weather, pesticide residues, and labor shortages. In the coming year, we will launch management solutions for popular tropical crops such as durian, passion fruit, and dragon fruit. Through scientific management methods, the ICM solutions optimize nutrient supply, enhance crop growth efficiency and yield, and reduce pesticide usage, thereby decreasing pesticide residues and improving the quality of agricultural products, which is of great significance to the agricultural development in this region.
Outlook for 2024 Smart Agriculture Week
The ICM Alliance cordially invites you to participate in the Taiwan Smart Agriculture Week, which will be held from September 11 to 13, 2024, at the 1st floor of Hall 1, Nangang Exhibition Center. During this event, we have specially invited Dr. Hsiu-Chu Yang, a former researcher at the Agricultural Chemicals Research Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture, to deliver a keynote speech on the concepts and implementation of integrated crop management. Additionally, alliance members will showcase a series of products for preventive agriculture and host seminars on the application and explanation of ICM. These sessions will be led by Ph.D.-level professional agricultural consultants, providing an opportunity for all participants to exchange insights on integrated crop management practices and jointly promote preventive agriculture. For detailed information, please refer to the attached agenda.
In the future, the ICMAA will continue to promote integrated crop management solutions, addressing the challenges brought by global climate change, improving the quality of agricultural products, and promoting sustainable agricultural development. We look forward to collaborating with more agricultural producers and consumers, jointly promoting the health and prosperity of agriculture, and contributing to the sustainable development of global agriculture.
