"Prevention Agriculture Implement - Integrated Crop Management (ICM)"


Prevention Agriculture is the application of breeding technologies and preventive agriculture practices to minimize the incidences of nutrition deficiencies, diseases and pests damages of crops and animals.
Prevention Agriculture practices include a range of strategies, but not limited to, organic farming, integrated crop management (ICM), integrated health management (IHM) integrated pest management (IPM), regenerative agriculture and smart agriculture.
The overarching goal is to increase food production and safety and to improve the sustainability of agriculture through a holistic and technically informed approach.


Integrated Crop Management (ICM) is a concept that combines prevention and correction strategies for sustainable and profitable crop production. Prevention strategy emphasizes the use of eco-friendly inputs to enhance soil and plant health. Correction strategy emphasizes the early detection and correction of the nutrient deficiencies and pest infestation of crops for healthier growth and higher yields. The goal is to prevent the symptoms of nutrient deficiencies and pest infestations from occurring on a large scale before they manifest, emphasizing the principle, “ Prevention surpasses Correction.”


In addition to the abundant product portfolio, the ICMAA will organize a seminar elaborating the ICM programs and prevention agriculture during the 2024 TAIWAN SMART AGRIWEEK.
