Company Profile
Since its founding in 1953, Watanabe Japan has been a comprehensive trading company for construction materials and agricultural solutions.
From construction piping to the design and turnkey construction of agricultural greenhouses, we provide an integrated one-stop service. In Japan, we hold a 37% market share in plastic-film greenhouses, and our greenhouse structures are designed with precision structural calculations to meet the stringent strength requirements needed to withstand natural disasters—ensuring safe, reliable Japanese greenhouse designs tailored to customer needs.
Beyond greenhouse design, we also supply a wide range of agricultural facility products in Japan. For example, F-CLEAN® greenhouse film by AGC has been trusted for over 35 years, offering long-lasting high light transmittance—an essential trend for the future of greenhouse cultivation.
To address heat stress in greenhouse facilities, we provide white shading nets with heat-inhibiting agents that effectively reflect solar heat and help lower internal temperatures. These solutions can be offered as part of an integrated proposal for facility cooling.
From a crop physiology perspective, we offer Cool&Up (containing hexanal), which stimulates stomatal opening on crop leaves to enhance transpiration and heat dissipation, boosting metabolic activity and regulating plant physiological mechanisms. Another innovative product is a Heat Stress Mitigation Agent, which triggers the production of heat shock proteins in crops when applied to leaves. This improves heat tolerance, promotes healthy root development, and increases yields. In Japan, this has already been successfully applied to rice, tomatoes, strawberries, and other crops.
Looking ahead, Watanabe Japan, together with Watanabe Taiwan and Watanabe Vietnam, will collaborate to expand into Taiwan and Southeast Asian markets. By delivering high-quality Japanese greenhouses and agricultural materials, we aim to further elevate agricultural standards—working alongside agribusinesses and farmers with the mission to make agriculture not only good, but even better.
