Smart Fishery Taiwan: Ecological Co-prosperity

Focusing on two main themes—"Biological and Fishery Database Applications" and "Fish Restoration and Resource Research"—this forum facilitates insights and exchanges among experts and scholars. By driving technological application and data integration, we aim to advance the development of Taiwan's smart fisheries and foster a sustainable, co-prosperous marine ecosystem.

  • Date/Time: 8th September 2026, 13:30-17:00
  • Venue: Room 502, 5th Floor, TaiNEX1
  • Organizer: Fisheries Research Institute, Ministry of Agriculture
  • Remarks: This forum will be conducted in Chinese
  • The organizer reserves the right to change/modify/suspend/cancel the event.

Taiwan's fishery sector is advancing into a new era of smart operations, data-driven management, and sustainability. In the face of challenges such as climate change, fluctuating fishery resources, and marine ecological conservation, integrating biological data, fishery databases, oceanographic and fishing conditions, and resource restoration research has become a critical task in driving the sustainable development of Taiwan's fisheries.

Under the theme "Smart Fishery Taiwan: Ecological Co-prosperity," this forum focuses on two main pillars: "Biological and Fishery Database Applications" and "Fish Restoration and Fishery Resource Research." We have invited leading domestic experts and scholars from the fields of marine science, fisheries, biodiversity, and data management to share their achievements in data integration, the application of fishery technologies, and resource research. Through this event, we aim to foster cross-disciplinary exchanges, laying a solid foundation for advancing smart fisheries and achieving the sustainable co-prosperity of our marine ecosystems.

Event Objectives:

  • To share achievements in the establishment, integration, and application of biological and fishery databases.
  • To facilitate exchanges in the fields of marine data, fishery technology, and resource management.
  • To showcase the research milestones of the Fisheries Research Institute (FRI) in oceanographic and fishing conditions, fish restoration, and fishery resources.
  • To promote the development of smart fisheries, fostering the sustainable co-prosperity of fishery production and marine ecosystems.
